In the late 60’s, Sammy Davis, Jr. sang the hit, “I’ve Gotta Be Me,” Madonna cranked out, “Express Yourself” in 1989 and more recently, Lady Gaga regaled the masses with “Born This Way.” This anthem has obviously been around awhile, but do we really want pop-culture to define us?
